These Terms of Service govern your use of the Fix My Rig website and remote IT support services. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Overview
Fix My Rig provides remote IT support services including technical troubleshooting, system optimisation, virus removal, software installation, data recovery, and network troubleshooting to individuals and businesses.
1.1 Service Delivery
Our services are delivered remotely via secure, industry-standard remote desktop software. We do not provide on-site services. Our technicians will require temporary access to your device to diagnose and resolve issues.
1.2 Service Tiers
We offer different service tiers (Basic, Advanced, and Comprehensive) with varying time allocations and pricing structures as outlined on our website. The specific scope of work will be agreed upon prior to the commencement of services.
1.3 Availability
Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm UK time. Weekend appointments may be available by prior arrangement only. We strive to accommodate booking requests but cannot guarantee immediate availability.
2. User Responsibilities
As a user of our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your technical issues
- Ensure you have administrator-level access to the device requiring support
- Maintain a stable internet connection sufficient for remote access
- Create and maintain backups of your data before we begin work
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use our services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
2.1 System Requirements
To use our services, your device must meet minimum system requirements for our remote access software, which will be communicated to you prior to your session. It is your responsibility to ensure your device meets these requirements.
2.2 Data Backup
While we take all reasonable precautions, remote technical support inherently carries some risk. You are responsible for backing up your data before our session begins. We are not liable for data loss that may occur during the support process.
3. Payment Terms
All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable taxes.
3.1 Payment Methods
We accept major credit and debit cards, and payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors.
3.2 Deposit Payments
Booking a service requires a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment:
- Basic tier: £10 deposit
- Advanced tier: £15 deposit
- Comprehensive tier: £20 deposit
Deposits are only refundable in exceptional circumstances beyond the customer's control, such as technical incompatibilities that prevent service delivery or scheduling conflicts on our part. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the service.
3.3 Additional Charges
If during the session it becomes apparent that the issue requires more time than initially booked, we will notify you and seek your approval before proceeding with any additional work that would incur extra charges.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that circumstances may change, and we aim to be flexible with our cancellation policy.
4.1 Cancellations by Customers
You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled session without penalty. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the service fee.
4.2 Cancellations by Fix My Rig
If we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative appointment times or a full refund if no suitable alternative can be found.
4.3 Refund Policy
If we are unable to diagnose or resolve your issue, you will only be charged for the time spent diagnosing the problem, not the full service fee. This diagnostic fee will not exceed 50% of the original service fee.
If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of your session, and we will work with you to resolve the issue or provide an appropriate refund.
5. Data Security & Privacy
We take data security and privacy seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards to protect your information.
5.1 Remote Access
Our remote access sessions use encrypted connections. We only access your device with your explicit permission and under your supervision.
5.2 Data Collection
During our support sessions, we may collect diagnostic information about your device. This information is used solely for the purpose of providing you with technical support.

6. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide the best possible service, there are limitations to our liability:
6.1 Exclusion of Warranties
Our services are provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
6.2 Limitation of Damages
In no event shall Fix My Rig, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use our services
- Any unauthorised access to or use of our servers or personal information
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our services
- Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our services
6.3 Maximum Liability
In any case, our maximum liability shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service in question.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, is the property of Fix My Rig and is protected by UK and international copyright laws.
7.1 Licence to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use our website and services for personal and non-commercial purposes.
